We knew our family was complete a year ago today when we welcomed our baby boy into the world. What we didn’t know was how funny, entertaining and adorable our Van would be in the following year. Van overall is a pretty amazing baby he has been a great sleeper, loves to eat, laugh and play. He is very sweet and observant. Often with a “what are you doing” look on his face as he ponders the world, or a mischievous grin as he gets into a naughty situation. Just when you think he is going to do something silly he will rest his little head on your lap for a hug. Other than Gwen our old yellow lab Max is his best friend. He calls him “axe.” Van’s first words have been ut-oh, mama, dada, axe (Max), ara (sarah), a form of thank you and ouch. He has little baby razors for nails, barely any hair and extremely sensitive skin. He laughs after he sneezes and loves blueberries. I mean he can eat an entire Costco size blueberry container in one week, no problem.
The most enjoyable moments for us have been seeing Gwen and Van interact. Even at a young age they have had their eye on eachother and I can’t even imagine the trouble and joy they will be in the future. She is a sweet big sister but also playful. She sings to him often and encourages him to walk, talk and keep up with her. She calls him “buddy” and insists they will have a band one day called The Van Band he will play the drums and sign and she will play the guitar and sign. Apparently.
Here are some of our favorite pics of our favorite little dude, our main mini man Van.
